Annual General Meeting 2010

Dear Members of the Great Glen Canal Users Association,
By now you should have received your invitation to this year's Annual General Meeting which will be held on Saturday 10th April at 18:00 to be held at the conference room (above the shower facilities), Caley Marina (refreshments available). Further information can be obtained from David Bird on 0798 6282184.
We look forward to seeing on the day.
Also, membership fees will become due at the end of March and can be renewed either at the AGM or by post. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.

STEPPING UP

On behalf of the committee and as chairman, I would like to thank all our members for your continued support during this period of change.
So it is with some pleasure that I would like to inform you that David Bird, of the vessel Inchmurrin Castle, has stepped forward and taken on the position as Chairperson. For the time being, I have taken on the position of treasurer.
We wish David all the best and I am sure you will hear from him in due course.

Elections/Stepping Down

After 6 years of running the GGCUA myself and the rest of the committee feel that it is time to step aside and let others take the helm.

If you feel you are up to the challenge please nominate yourselves for posts of Chairman, Vice-chairman, Secretary and Treasurer by 16/09/09.

Please bear in mind that if we do not receive any nominations it will effectively mean the end of the association.

Summer Jumble Success

Saturday 11th July was a great day with good crowds attending the grand opening of Inverness Marina.
Our thanks to those who turned out to support the GGCUA's jumble.

This is going to be a big event.

It has been highly publicised on the radio and in the press and will be a great opportunity for you to get rid of all your unwanted boaty bits.

(and probably pick up a bargain or two in the process)

Dame Ellen MacArthur will be performing the official opening ceremony

There will be a whole host of events taking place as well,

Including water-borne activities in the marina

The RNLI and CoastGuard will be present

There will be a sail repair workshop

Music, Food and so much more for all the family.

So come along and have a great day out.

We are planning a summer cruise and BBQ, so we are after your ideas and suggestions.
